Bradley Beach is a unique oceanfront and family community located on the Jersey Shore home to friendly residents and welcoming to visitors and businesses. As a small but diverse town, our Bradley Beach municipality seeks to offer the best quality of life, civic engagement, great services in a caring and inclusive environment.
A History of Bradley Beach
The earliest accounts of Bradley Beach can be traced back to 1679 when it is said that Captain William Kidd anchored his vessel off Duck Creek, now known as Sylvan Lake. The area was rich with pine trees and sand dunes providing a natural haven for waterfowl. It was also reported that an Indian tribe existed in the approximate area of LaReine Avenue.

The Friends of the Bradley Beach Library: Afternoon Tea
The Friends of the Bradley Beach Library: Afternoon Tea
The Friends of the Bradley Beach Library will host an afternoon tea on Sunday, April 28th from 2-4 pm at O’Hara Hall (Parish of St. Teresa of Calcutta) 501 Brinley Ave, Bradley Beach. $25 charge covers pots of tea, tea sandwiches, scones, cookies and pastries. There will be a “Best Hat Contests” and fascinators may be purchased at the event. Tickets must be purchased at the library in advance by April 23 by cash or check made payable to “Friends of the Bradley Beach Library”. Tickets will NOT be available to purchase the day of the event.
